Week 11: Prezi

As we near the end of the semester, I have been trying to reflect on some of the Web 2.0 tools I utilized a lot before this course and not recognizing they were classified as tools for online learning and community. One particular tool I used a lot throughout my master’s program was Prezi. I used Prezi because it was PowerPoint on steroids – interactive and different capabilities. I bring up Prezi because I do not use Prezi anymore for work or school, however I could see it being useful in throughout this course in some capacity.

Does anyone still use Prezi, has anyone ever used Prezi?

I just tried to login into Prezi to see old presentations and I have no idea which email I used for it, sigh. I believe it was my Colorado State email address but alas I will share with you why I believe it could still be a useful Web 2.0 tool especially for learning.

Prezi allows you to invite team members to presentations, you can choose your current role – business, educator, student, or other – you can create presentations, infographics, record a video, and even explore their examples, AND they have a lot of reusable presentations. This is like Canva meets PowerPoint meets Google Forms. There are a multitude of possibilities for presenting. So, if you have never tried it – here is my Prezi plug to do so.

 I did a family poll this week to see what was everyone's most used social media platform is. My immediate family is my partner and two dogs so the dogs didn't have an input ☺I also polled my parents and my sister. Below are the tallies of who uses what every day.  Facebook: 4 Instagram: 4 Twitter: 2 TikTok: 1 Some would argue this could be age related, however the ages ranged from 33 - 71, and the twitter users were in their 40's and 70's, Facebook was everyone, Instagram was everyone, and Tik Tok was in their 30's. Week 4: Online Life

While progressing through class this week and attempting to become more integrated in other Web 2.0 communities and content, I can't help but find it overwhelming. I think there is a reason I am fully a part of some online communities and just aware of others. Maybe it is the feeling of a need  to check in or just not having the capacity to engage across multiple platforms. I am sure there is a term for it these days and I should go search for it, but I feel exhaustion from the internet  right now. Don't get me wrong, it is a privilege to have everything in the palm of our hands, connectivity to loved ones, access to information, maps, locations, etc., but living in the space throughout the day is exhausting.  I sat outside last night and reflected on my usage of all things that are internet related throughout my day and it is no wonder I feel overwhelmed. And yes, I strategically set outside so I wouldn't be around anything streaming or playing. Below is just a snap shot...

Week 4: Your Thoughts, Internet Exhaustion

 After posting my last blog and engaging in a Flickr exercise for the class it got me thinking of posting another blog with feelings and emotions to my internet exhaustion.
